Happy Holidays, or is it? An update post.

I'm working hard to find the silver-lining these days. Our family has had a difficult start to the holiday season. For the people who follow me on Instagram you probably know a little bit of the situation. But for those of you who have no idea what is going on and just haven't seen me put up a post in awhile, I'll give a recap below: The Gist of it... The Monday before Thanksgiving I was informed that my father has been both physically and mentally abusing my Mom and my Uncle Mike (who lives with them due to debilitating seizures) for [at least] the past 3 years.  Getting them both out of the house was stressful because we had to remove them before my father got home, the risk of…

Inside the mind of a Kindergartner

Kids and Entertainment, Uncategorized
Below are 25 questions every parent should ask their child once in their little lives. The answers you receive just might surprise you… Today I am sitting down with my son Jaxon for an informal interview. Getting inside the mind of a kindergartner; if you will. I must say, this wasn’t an easy task. Getting a five-year old to sit down with me for longer than ten minutes took a lot of Halloween candy and letting him have full access of what he considered the best candy! Life Lessons

Informative, Life Experience, Uncategorized
Preface: I’m writing this particular post for many reasons. The most obvious would be to reflect and heal. It is very difficult to relive the moments I am about to write for you, but I am also writing it to help anyone else who has gone through the same type or similar situation.  You are not alone. Introduction:  This story is about my son Jaxon and a traumatic accident that involved him at a young age. It is very emotional for me to write and…

Family Time, Informative, Kids and Entertainment, Uncategorized
It's all normal, they said.Nothing terrifies me more than one of my kid's friends running up to me, and asking, "Can we do a play date sometime? My mommy says it's OK." Or worse, I go to pick my kids up from school and they shout (in front of everyone and their MOTHER), "can I go on a play date with my friend? Its today, right now actually. We need to meet at the park!" (more…)

Stinky Cars and Water Balloon Wars!

Family Time, Kids and Entertainment, Uncategorized
So there I was in the garage cleaning out my car and let me just say, "kids are gross!" I'm finding food wrappers, sticky pieces of candy, dirty shoes, a pair of stinky sweats from gymnastics, a dog leash, two dolls, a library book (hopefully not over due [update: book's totally overdue-ugh]), and so much sand (and crumbs) I could fill a small sand pit. Should I mention I found a moldy pea. At least I think that's what it once was, and I don't recall having peas in my car, ever... But I digress, I'm completely in the zone; determined to find the mystery smell coming from the back seat. By the way, what Mom hasn't found herself in this situation before? In search of a mystery smell! Mom's…
